The Alpha Malaysia Research Team seeks to provide local church leaders with credible thought leadership insights, driven by local market research data. Our hope is that church leaders are enabled to navigate serving through the changing trends and season.

People across generations and faith groups are striving to navigate challenges in their respective life stages, from adolescence, to adulthood, to marriage, and to parenting life. Have the Church and the community been present to fundamentally journey alongside them? How do Malaysians view marriage and cohabitation? What are the pressing issues impacting married couples and what are the common struggles in parenting?

In this respect, Alpha Malaysia presents, Family Life in Malaysia: Understanding Modern-Day Pre-Marriage, Marriage, and Parenting. This research studies these three main stages in Malaysian individuals and how we as the church and Christian leaders can connect with them to make a meaningful difference in their relationships, provide pastoral care, and disciple them to be faith-filled believers. In the report you will find:

  • Data and snapshot summaries on behaviours of Christian and non-Christian individuals.
  • Q&A with local thought leaders which shed clear light on what this information means for Christians and their church.
  • Infographics, charts, and other data visualisations.

This report also includes a field guide section to help you apply these insights in your own church and ministry. We hope this report will give you the clarity you need to support people across generations and their life stages.

This report was published on 29 October 2022 at the Embrace Conference 2022.
