We held the Alpha Workplace Conversations (AWc) 2017 on November 4 at Taylor's University, Lakeside Campus. This year we intentionally moved away from a conference and instead engaged in more personalised conversations with Christians in the workplace.
The event featured conversations by various plenary and panel speakers of several different industries, like Kid Chan - Founder and Executive of KIDCHANSTUDIO, John-Son Oei - Founder & Group CEO of EPIC Collective, BK Gan - President of Taylor's Schools and so many more.
Like any Alpha event, we started off with a great time of worship led by Worship Central Malaysia. Delegates then got to engage in three inspiring plenary sessions by Ps Dr Chew Weng Chee, Ps Benny Ho and Ps Dr Philip Lyn.
The event continued with panels sessions targeted at four distinct areas, the creative arts, education, business and relationships. Also, about 30 people were engaged in a special workshop on Bi-Vocational Pastoring led by Ps Dr Philip Lyn and Ps Timothy Loh who is the Senior Pastor of Every Nation Church and a businessman.
The day ended with a powerful time of prayer, where delegates were commissioned to be salt and light in their respective workplaces. Everyone was then encouraged by Melissa Theng, Global Head, Alpha Workplace Regional Manager, to join the upcoming Alpha team training at HTBB.
We hope that this event continues to inspire Christians in the workplace to be signposts, to point others towards Jesus and share the gospel with them through Alpha.
